Personal Growth Month
It feels like November flew in a second. And I guess that this feeling has a lot to do with an enormous amount of studies and work I had to manage this month. Quite a few hours have been invested in two prospect projects, which was a risky bet on my side, but eventually, it all was worth the time. I’m currently closing both projects, yay! On the top of that, the end of November marks the deadline to submit 90% of my Bachelor’s thesis. As you can see, November was an extreme roller coaster through writing blocks and jungle of motivation. But having that all in mind, I’m quite proud of myself for not letting all these challenges at work and university keep me from sharing these bits of my life with you guys! November 2016 round-up consists of short posts on personal growth, if you want to check all the posts that include other topics (a gift idea for the boyfriend, Tomas Lau story, money saving tip, relationship thoughts and so much more – make sure to visit 120 Percent Instagram.
#1 EXPERIMENT ON HAPPINESS:
So since I love taking on personal experiments, I did one on my HAPPINESS. I was simply writing down every single detail that triggers my happiness. Guess what, 72% of it all had something to do with people – my boy, friends, family or even complete strangers! They are the ones who make all the difference. So go ahead, and tell one friend how grateful you are for all the happiness that this person brought into your life? ? Consider following me on Instagram? @120pct #120percent
#2 BROADENING HORIZONS:
“Magic happens when your world collides with the world of someone who’s from a different area. Not when you stick to someone, who works in the same area as you.” (Ralph Talmont) This is one of the takeaways from today’s conference “What’s Next?”. It explains so well why it’s important to be daily explorers. Not only in our professional life but in all areas actually. That’s my message to you friends for today – broaden your horizons, because that’s when we open endless resources of ideas and unforgettable adventures ?
#3 BUYING EXPERIENCES, NOT THINGS:
I don’t want a fancy palace to live in. I don’t want a ton of jewelry around my neck. I don’t want all these financial responsibilities on my shoulders. I want moments that would fill my eyes with tears of pure joy. I want stories and memories that would get me goosebumps. I want life fulfilling experiences. That’s all I want ?
#4 CARRYING ONLY WHAT’S MINE TO CARRY:
#5 GETTING OVER HARD DAYS:
Some days can be overwhelming. So many steps to take, never ending hill of expectations to climb. But then take a step back to remember that you made through it so far, you conquered and overcame it all. Life’s like that – you break, you fall, you crawl, and then you turn it all into the S T R O N G E R – Y O U ?
#6 LISTENING TO MY GUT:
#8 GOING OFF SCRIPT:
Everyone’s path is unique with its own ups and downs, but we humans tend to compare it to the path of others. I’m no different, I think a lot of where I would be right now if I wouldn’t have chosen one path or another along the way. But at the end of the day, I think the secret answer is that we’re good as long as we stay on the path that feels right. The trouble starts when for all the logical reasons we end up living lives that are not ours to live at all.
#9 LOOKING AT HOW FAR I’VE COME:
With these long to-do lists that never end, it’s so easy to underestimate how far you’ve already come. And if you’re a perfectionist like I am, I know that you can be too hard on yourself sometimes. That’s why having a mentor who I talk to every month is one of the best things, because I get to sit down and make a list of facts: everything that happened, has been achieved or learned. Write down 10 things that happened in the last 30 days yourself. I bet that you will be no less surprised than I was! ✒️ ?
#10 HACKING THE LIFE:
Today I would like to encourage you to do something really important. Do a careful audit of your thoughts and words for at least one day. Write down phrases that you use, things you visualize, and even thoughts buzzing in your head. Now, let’s say that it’s the script for a movie that you’re writing. What kind of movie is it going to be? Every thought, word and action that you send out creates events that respond to these signals. Everything around you shifts towards that movie you’re creating. So if you feel like that’s not the movie you would like to take your part in, then it’s about time you change the script friend ?
#11 APPRECIATING EVERYTHING THAT I HAVE:
I have so much to be grateful for in this life! Let me give you a slight push towards the same idea, because, I believe that you have not a bit less 🙂 Let’s go! My family might be a bit disfunctional, but I have both parents and even two sisters, what makes a good combo – boy talk while dad is fishing and girl talk with mom and sisters. Oh, and not to mention my awesome boy and friends – that’s a lot of power standing by my side. I might not have a dream home of my own, but I have the mountains I’ve climbed, comfort zones I’ve expanded, and experiences, I will remember forever. I might not be overly excited about my Bachelor’s thesis that has to be submitted in 8 days, but I’m so lucky to be able to get an education that won’t be followed by a financial debt for life. I might not have that security, stability, and promised future in my job, but I get to choose the clients, who also become friends to chat about life and topics just like this. It’s great to be me, it’s great to be you, it’s so good to be us. ❤️ Show me that you care by giving a thumbs up!
How did you like this kind of blog post? I personally, enjoy looking back at my month and realizing how many things have been accomplished. If that’s something you would like to see in the future, please don’t be shy and share it with me!
